Pick a difficulty
Choose one on the rider and course screen before any run. Difficulty changes how many obstacles each course has; the courses, jumps and rails stay the same.
| Difficulty | Obstacles |
|---|---|
| Easy | None at all: no trees, rocks or gates. Good for beginners and for practising tricks. |
| Normal | Free riding: open snow, the odd rock or gate, and hardly any trees. |
| Medium | More, closer together. |
| Hard | Every obstacle, with rows that often block two of the three lanes. |
How scoring works
- Mix trick types. Each extra kind of trick in one jump (a spin, a flip, a grab, a grind) adds half again to its score.
- Land it clean. A perfect landing scores 1.5 times, a clean one the normal amount, and a sketchy one half, which also breaks your combo.
- Keep the combo going. Land another trick within 5 seconds to build a combo, up to ×6.
- Stay up. Air time scores on its own, so big kickers pay even before you trick.
- Fill SURGE. Tricks fill the boost bar. When it's full you get 8 seconds of unlimited boost and double points.
Unlock all six courses
Distance opens courses, not score, and it counts on every difficulty. Each one unlocks when you ride far enough on the one before:
- Fuji First Tracks (easy) → ride 500 m to open
- Naeba Forest → 700 m to open
- Kumotori Ridge → 900 m to open
- Yuzawa Express → 1,100 m to open
- Karuizawa Night Park → 1,400 m to open
- Hakuba Steeps (expert)
On an unlock run, ride safe, or drop the difficulty: every crash uses one of your three rewinds, so skip big tricks near trees and boulders, go round red gates early, and use boost to keep a gap on the avalanche.
